Johnson Motors Inc. is a motorcycle company founded in 1938 in Pasadena, California by Bill Johnson and Wilbur Cedar. Although the company was the number one dealer of Triumph Motorcycles in California, an active supporter of California Motor Racing during the early to mid twentieth century, and collaborated with such stars as Marlon Brando, James Dean, Clint Eastwood and Steve McQueen, it has only become well known in recent years due to its vintage clothing. The company is mostly known for its vintage style signature T-shirts. Knitted, cut, sewn, dyed, printed and laundered in the USA, Johnson Motors t-shirts usually have large print on the front and back as well as a small black lozenge-shaped Johnson Motors logo on the left sleeve. The company launched its clothing line in the early 2000s and now Johnson Motors T-shirts, or JoMo T-shirts, are sold across the United States. ==Designs== The current company's success is mainly due to the old Johnson Motors' designs. The current company successfully predicted consumers' desire for vintage clothing and retro styles and logos of the 1950s and 1960s.They do not act as an importer or distributor of Triumph motorcycles, which was the original business model of the old Johnson Motors. The origin of the Catalina Grand Prix T-shirt is the Catalina Grand Prix motorcycle races in the 50s. Once a year, boats loaded with motorcycles crossed the channel to Catalin Island, off the California coast. Triumphs, Matchlesses, and BSAs took on the 10 mile course that ran through city streets, up into the hills, and through a golf course, before heading back into Avalon to streets lined with screaming fans. This event made its mark in history and produced many stars. Another top design is 13 REBELS T-shirt, which features the logo of the 13 REBELS Motorcycle Club. The club is a historic American Motorcyclist Association (A.M.A.) sanctioned Motorcycle Club. Founded in 1937 by the 13 top A.M.A. motorcycle racers in Southern California, the 13 REBELS M.C. strives to carry on the spirit and tradition of the original founders of this club. Johnson Motors Inc. also sells a series of T-shirts in honor of Steve McQueen, the American movie actor and motor enthusiast, who rode Johnson Motors Inc. motorcycle in The Great Escape (film) (1963). Not all the designs of Johnson Motors Inc. are related to American motorcycle tradition. One of the most famous designs, the classic Johnson Motors Inc. T-shirt, has a classic vintage Triumph Motorcycle logo commemorating the Johnson Motors Triumph dealership. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Johnson Motors Inc.
